Tin Art
The tinsmith tradition began in the state of Guanajuato, but is now practiced in many states across Mexico. Artisans cut, stamp, press, shape, fold, punch and etch the tin by hand into many different kinds of beautiful pieces. You are able to see how innovative these artists are when you see the wide variety of objects that they are able to fashion from such a simple beginning.
Due to the nature of the paints used, these pieces do not always photograph true to color. In addition, your computer set-up may change how pictures are displayed on your monitor. If you would like to see more pictures of any piece, please contact us. We will be happy to e-mail more photos to you. |
